Lanzarote Property For Sale

If you have finally made the decision to buy a Lanzarote property you have taken the first and biggest step. Now it is time to get down to some property buying details.

The first thing to consider is the location of your brand new home or holiday property on this clement island.

The three most popular areas to purchase a property for sale in Lanzarote are Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise. Each area has its own distinct character with something that will appeal to everyone.

Puerto del Carmen was the first established tourist centre on the island, dating back to as early as 1963. The resort was chosen for its beaches, dependable weather and closeness to the airport. The increase in tourist numbers visiting the area seeded healthy growth in Puerto del Carmen property sales. This area has the most places to buy, eat and be merry on the whole of Lanzarote. There are great beaches, such as Playa Chica and Playa Grande. The islands second golf course can be found just inland of the resort. There is a wide selection of real estate in the area from affordable apartments on complexes to large extravagant villas with private pools and sea views.

The second largest resort in Lanzarote is tucked way down on the islands southern tip, going by the name of  Playa Blanca. Grown out of an idyllic and sleepy fishing village the town is now a well laid out area where residents and visitors flourish side by side. Property in Blanca is characterized by enjoying a little more space and access than its sister of Puerto del Carmen. There are several of the islands best five star hotels here. Luxury property can be found in areas like Montana Roja offering amazing sunrise and sunset views. Closer to town apartments in quaint complexes flourish. Playa Blanca has its own marina and harbor with a regular ferry service to Fuerteventura. The area is great for families and retirees alike. The beaches are safe and the whole area has a sedate and open feel to it.

Costa Teguise is the third of Lanzarote’s main areas of tourism. As a planned resort the layout and communications are very good. It boasts the islands first golf course and only aqua park. World class windsurfing can be found at the main Las Cucharas beach. Sea front bars and restaurants abound affording perfect evening strolls whilst soaking up the relaxing holiday atmosphere.

Overall Lanzarote has a lot to offer the property buyer. The three main resorts are  only the tip of the rich cultural diversity the island has to offer. Proud of its heritage strict building construction rules are adhered to that serve as a protection to its many property owners. Most buildings cannot extend to more than two floors. Exterior colours must be white. These laws work very well in protecting the islands real culture and feel. Not only is the culture protected but also your property investment. You can rest without fear that next year a huge high rise will be built right in front of your amazing view. High rises are not allowed, period. Buying in Lanzarote is something that many people wish they did years earlier as its affordability, ease of purchase and usability keep owners returning year after year.
